Whether you travel with family, as a couple, or with friends, our circuits adapt to your pace and preferences. From a 12-day discovery circuit to a grand 3-week journey combining North and South, find the itinerary that suits you and travel with peace of mind with an English-speaking local agency.
Choose your trip in Laos
How to choose your Laos circuit?
Your choice depends first on your available time and the regions you want to combine. A format of 13 to 17 days allows you to cover a coherent route, for example Luang Prabang, the deep North around Nong Khiaw, then Vientiane and the Thakhek loop. To include the South, the Boloven plateau, Champassak and the 4000 islands, plan for 18 days or more, which gives you time to travel slowly through the country without chaining long drives. Beyond 18 days, combinations with neighboring Cambodia become worthwhile via the Voeun Kham border.
Different types of circuits
We design three main families of itineraries based on your profile. Cultural circuits emphasize the temples of Luang Prabang, the tak bat at dawn, the weaving workshops of tai lue villages, the Khmer site of Vat Phou and encounters with Buddhist communities. Adventure circuits include two to four-day treks in the Nam Ha reserve, kayaking on the Nam Ou, cycling on the Boloven plateau and nights in treehouses at Gibbon Experience. Family circuits favor a gentle pace, fun activities like ethical elephant bathing in Sayaboury, boat trips on the 4000 islands and family-friendly accommodations.
What is the best season?
The peak period runs from November to February, with clear skies, temperatures of 22 to 28°C in the plains and cool nights at altitude, sometimes 10°C on the Bolovens. March to May are the hottest months, up to 38°C, and agricultural burning clouds the landscapes of the North. The monsoon from June to October doesn't prevent travel: rains fall mainly in the late afternoon, rice paddies are intensely green and waterfalls reach full flow. September and October offer an excellent compromise for those wanting to avoid peak season.
